Bishkek, Dec. 11, 2024. / Kabar /. The World Bank will provide Kyrgyzstan with an interest-free loan of $500 million for the construction of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1, Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev told reporters.
He said that the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 construction project will be signed in May 2025. "There is an investment proposal. Uzbekistan has already confirmed its application to the WB and Kazakhstan is ready to participate. In May, we can begin creating a joint project. The feasibility study has already been determined and updated," Amangeldiev said.
The minister noted that the cost of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 project is estimated at $3.6 billion.
