Bishkek, Oct.21, 2019. /Kabar/. The World Saving Week is taking place in Kyrgyzstan for the fifth time, Deputy Chairwoman of the Kyrgyz National Bank Meerim Momunkulova told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
“We conduct it jointly with the Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation and the Ministry of Education and Science, banks and the Deposit Protection Agency. World Savings Day is celebrated not only in Kyrgyzstan but all over the world,” she said.

“The goal of World Savings Day is to improve the financial literacy of children and young people. In this regard, in 2015, the National Bank together with the German Savings Fund launched the Savings Day celebrations in Kyrgyzstan. Every year, Savings Day is gaining popularity among children and young people,” she added.
In addition, the Bank deputy head said in 2019, Kyrgyzstan was recognized as the winner in the country category with the award in the Youth Involvement 2019 category, established by the Child and Youth Finance International.
“This year's World Savings Day has a slogan “Kiyaldar Kanat Baylaganda”, that is, when dreams come true. It confirms the essence of the campaign in the best way possible. Today, the most stable way to save money for the population of the Kyrgyz Republic is through bank deposits,” she added.
Note that Global Money Week will be held on Oct.21-31 throughout Kyrgyzstan.
About 100 events in schools and universities, as well as financial fair in Bishkek are planned to be held as part of the World Saving Week.
