World's largest cargo plane Mriya arrives in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Nov. 28, 2021. / Kabar / . The biggest transport aircraft in the world, the AN-225 Mriya, has arrived on Sunday to Manas International Airport of Kyrgyzstan.

Not all airports of the world can accept such a heavy cargo with a length of 84 meters, a height of 18.2 meters and a wingspan of 88.4 meters, the press service of Manas Airport said.

Mriya is coming to Kyrgyzstan for the third time. Previously, it arrived in 2013 and 2018.

An-225 Mriya is the biggest and the most cargo-carrying aircraft in the history of the world aviation and exists only in a single copy. With a full tank of aviation fuel it is able to cover a distance of more than 15 thousand kilometers.

The airplane was designed and built in the USSR in single copy at Kyiv Mechanical Plant in 1984-88. The first flight was made on Dec. 21, 1988.
