Bishkek, March 11, 2019. / Kabar /. The world's largest ethno-festival “Nomad Universe” has started in Saudi Arabia. The World Confederation of Ethno-Games (Kyrgyzstan), in collaboration with the Camel Club (Saudi Arabia), proudly announced the launch of the global event “Nomad Universe”, which takes place from 9 to 19 March 2019 as part of Camel Festival of King Abdul Aziz in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the press service of the World Confederation of Ethnogames reported.
The main goal of the “Nomads Universe”, which has no analogues in the world, is the preservation and revival of the historical heritage and diversity of the original culture of peoples and ethnic groups from around the world. 2000 participants from 90 countries currently visit the “Nomad Universe” to present their cultural values in the arts, sports and science.
“Through the revival of cultural values and the philosophy of the centuries-old traditions, “Nomads Universe”will promote cultural mutual enrichment and peace among the peoples of the world. It unites the diversity of different nations and ethnic groups and supports the deep philosophy and spiritual holiness of our ancestors,” said Askhat Akibayev, President of the World Confederation of Ethnogames.
Competitions are held on ethno-sports, including the Kok Boru equestrian competition, the Er Enish equestrian competition, traditional archery and traditional hunting with falcons, golden eagles and Taiga dogs "salbuurun", great nomad competitions (running with sheep, riding a horse, riding a horse with a goat), demonstration games and master classes in traditional wrestling, masrestling and arm wrestling, such as competitions in carrying cargo and Yakut competitions in jumping. This component is an expression of the cultural and historical tradition and spiritual identity of its practitioners and serves to unite the community depending on social status, fostering a culture of teamwork, responsibility and respect.
In addition to sporting events, art and science are also an important element. Cultural events unite the work of ethnocultural artists, folk groups, ensembles such as famous sculptors and artists from 90 countries.
The Camel Festival of King Abdul Aziz is the world's largest festival of camels, which is held annually under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.
