Bishkek, Dec.23, 2024. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz and Russian writer, poet and playwright Vladimir Lidsky became the winner of the prestigious Fazil Iskander Prize. This became known at the award ceremony in Moscow.
The award recognizes Lidsky's long-term contribution to the literature and culture of Kyrgyzstan. Receiving the award named after Fazil Iskander emphasizes not only the literary merits of the writer, but also his unique contribution to the development of intercultural dialogue between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
Vladimir Lidsky was born in Moscow. He was educated at the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography. He has lived in Kyrgyzstan since 1984. Lidsky is a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Kyrgyzstan and the author of several research works on Kyrgyz cinema, including the monograph “Kyrgyz animation as a national phenomenon” and the book “Kyrgyzstan on the screen”.
His works explore the subtleties of human nature and raise complex social issues.
