Bishkek, Sept. 26, 2022 / Kabar /. The 10th Anniversary International Anti-counterfeiting Forum started in Bishkek at the Ala-Archa state residence.
The forum was opened by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov.
In his speech, the head of the Cabinet greeted the forum participants on behalf of President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and on his own behalf.
“Over the past 10 years, the forum has transformed from an exclusively national event into the Eurasian International Forum, aimed at combating counterfeit products, one of the most pressing problems in the world. The turnover from its illegal production and use is comparable to the turnover from the trade in drugs, weapons, as well as income from oil production. Counterfeiting harms both large manufacturers and small and medium-sized businesses. And the budget of the member states of the union annually loses about 1 billion tax revenues. The Kyrgyz Republic has been a member of the World Trade Organization since 1998 and the Eurasian Economic Union since 2015. Thus, we have formulated a reliable system of legal protection of intellectual property. After all, it is such a system that contributes to the development of technical innovations, artistic creativity and the evaluation of new products and services,” he said.
It should be noted that the forum will last 3 days and will be dedicated to the issues of combating illegal circulation of industrial products and protecting intellectual property rights.
As part of the forum, it is planned:
- ethno-exhibition of traditional applied arts and exhibition and sale of handicrafts, master classes;
- discussion sessions;
- holding the IV International Youth Forum "Anti-counterfeit-M" on the topic: "The role of youth in countering the illegal circulation of industrial products in modern conditions";
- visiting the National Historical Museum of the Kyrgyz Republic by international participants.
