Astana, Nov. 3, 2023. /Kabar/. A meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) has began in Astana.
The summit participants arrived at the Akorda Presidential Palace. The leaders of countries and heads of delegations who arrived at the event were welcomed by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. After the end of the welcoming ceremony and joint photography, the leaders of the countries moved to the meeting room.
The summit will be attended by the presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev, as well as the heads of delegations of observer countries of the organization: Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban.
The theme of this summit is TURKTIME (Traditions, Unification, Reforms, Knowledge, Trust, Investments and Mutual Energy).
Thus, during the meeting, the leaders of the countries will discuss current issues on the Organization’s agenda, adopt the Astana Act and the final Declaration of the summit, covering key areas of multilateral cooperation.
As a result of the event, it is planned to sign multilateral documents in the field of emergency situations, metrology, a Joint Action Plan for the implementation of the OTS Transport Communication Program, make a number of personnel decisions in the Organization of Turkic States and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, as well as the Decision to declare February 6 as the Day of Remembrance for Disaster Victims and solidarity within the OTS.
