Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2020. /Kabar/. There are already those who want to voluntarily compensate the state for the damage caused, Acting President of Kyrgyzstan, Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov said in an interview with the state channel speaking about the declared economic amnesty.
He said that the fight against corruption must be fundamentally changed.
"What’s the use of arrest of corrupt officials and unscrupulous entrepreneurs - the state will simply keep them in prison with three meals a day, and the multimillion-dollar damage will not be compensated," Zhaparov said.
Besides, the acting president noted that now there are already those who are ready to voluntarily return to the state everything that goes beyond their legal and legitimate income as part of the economic amnesty.
"Now we need some time, the process has just begun. After the amnesty, a number of officials come and confess their own transgressions and give back what they took. Our main task is to replenish the state budget and return the loot," concluded Sadyr Zhaparov.
