Zhaparov, Aliyev hold face-to-face talks

Bishkek, April 20, 2022. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov held face-to-face talks with Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev as part of his official visit to Baku, his press service reported.

The heads of state discussed the current state and prospects of Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

In his speech, Ilham Aliyev stressed that the Azerbaijani side is set for active cooperation in all spheres of cooperation, and expressed confidence that the visit of Sadyr Zhaparov will serve to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

He noted that an exchange of views will take place on economic cooperation, increasing trade turnover and regional security, as well as the signing of many documents, including the main one - the Declaration on Strategic Partnership, which will bring the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani relations to a new level.

In turn, Sadyr Zhaparov expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani leader for the invitation to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan and for hospitality.

"It is important to emphasize that the foundation of Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani relations was laid by Heydar Aliyev, a historical figure of international scale. Since then, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan have had very good relations based on deep historical and spiritual ties between our peoples," the president of Kyrgyzstan added.

He expressed readiness to deepen cooperation with brotherly Azerbaijan in all areas of mutual interest.

Following face-to-face talks, the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan will continue negotiations in an extended format.
