Head of the foreign policy department of the administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Muratbek Azymbakiev told media representatives what issues will be discussed today during the meeting between the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Zhaparov, and the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres.
According to him, the parties will discuss a broad international agenda - issues of cooperation within the framework of regional issues, regional security and socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan. "That is, all the issues that are included in the big agenda of the UN. The main goals of the UN are the implementation of the sustainable development goals of the UN, and there are 17 of them. Kyrgyzstan has something to say about all of them," Muratbek Azymbakiev emphasized.
He noted that, as a result of development, Kyrgyzstan has made strong progress in the international arena in recent years. This will also be discussed during today's meetings and negotiations.
"By the end of 2022, Kyrgyzstan took 45th place out of 166 states in the implementation of sustainable development goals. Sadyr Zhaparov set a goal to reach the top 30 countries by 2030. This is a big political will and desire. And, most importantly, the active work of all members of our community. After that, António Guterres will meet with the leaders of the UN system, there will be a cultural and educational program, and tomorrow morning he will fly to Astana for the SCO summit," the official said.
