Bishkek, March 17, 2021 / Kabar /. A ceremony to launch the Talas Gold Processing Complex took place today in Talas Oblast, where gold will be extracted from the ore of the Dzherui deposit.
The event, which was held in the format of a teleconference, was attended by Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The ceremony was also attended by President of the Russian Alliance Group Musa Bazhaev and Chairman of the board of VTB Bank Andrey Kostin.
During his speech, Zhaparov expressed gratitude to Putin for his personal participation in today's event.
Sadyr Zhaparov stressed that the joint opening of the gold ore plant testifies to the close partnership and dynamically developing relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
The capacity of the gold recovery complex is 1.3 million tonnes of ore per year. All mined ore will be processed at the mill, with subsequent refining on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic will have the preferential right to purchase gold bars.
