Zhaparov awards winners of International Army Games 2021

Bishkek, Sept. 14, 2021 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov presented awards to national servicemen who won the Tank Biathlon and Airborne Platoon competitions held during the Seventh International Army Games, his press service said Tuesday.

The Kyrgyz leader praised the victory of the military who, along with athletes who achieved high results at the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo (Japan), thus made a gift for the 30th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence.

"The International Army Games have been held in many countries around the world over the past few years.

As part of the games, Kyrgyzstan's military participated in two major competitions - Tank Biathlon and Airborne Platoon - and took first places in their divisions. Our tankers competed against teams from 8 countries, and the paratroopers - from 12 countries. As a result, the flag of Kyrgyzstan rose in the international arena and the worthy descendants of Manas the Great once again found themselves on the high podium," Zhaparov said.

He expressed deep gratitude to the tankers and paratroopers for the victory, which brought glory to the country, and also made special mention of all servicemen who provided combat training for these teams.

The president of Kyrgyzstan presented servicemen with engraved watches, and some of them received a commendation on behalf of the President.

Besides, KGS 1 million 880 thousand were allocated from reserve fund of the President to participants of competitions.

The Seventh International Army Games-2021 were held on Aug. 22 - Sept. 4 in 11 countries: Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Qatar, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Serbia and Uzbekistan.

The competitions were held simultaneously on 23 ranges and in waters of the Caspian, Arabian and Japanese seas. More than 5,000 servicemen from 277 teams from 42 countries took part.
