Zhaparov familiarizes with construction of infrastructure facilities in Batken Oblast

Bishkek, Nov. 2, 2020. /Kabar/. As part of his working trip to south of Kyrgyzstan, Acting President, Prime Minister of the republic Sadyr Zhaparov familiarized with the construction of infrastructure facilities in Batken Oblast.

According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Government, Zhaparov visited the new pumping station in Ak-Sai village and got acquainted with its construction progress.

The construction of the pumping station was started in 2019 in order to fully equip residents of the Bakai section of Ak-Sai village, Batken Oblast with irrigation water.

The acting president inspected the pumping station and instructed local authorities to complete construction of the station by the next irrigation season.

"By solving the problem of irrigation water, we not only improve the living conditions of ordinary people, but also take a big step forward for the development of agriculture. The improvement and modernization of irrigation systems will ensure food security. Therefore, providing the population with irrigation water is a priority in the government's work," Zhaparov said.

The construction of the pumping station is 85% complete. The facility is planned to be put into operation by the end of December this year. After completion of the pumping station construction, 140 ha of new irrigated land will be developed, as well as 290 ha currently used. Besides, over 500 new jobs will be created.
