Bishkek, Nov. 4, 2020. /Kabar/. As part of his working visit to Dzhalal-Abad Oblast of Kyrgyzstan, Acting President, Prime Minister of the republic Sadyr Zhaparov got acquainted with the progress of construction of a gold-processing plant at the Terek-Sai deposit.
According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Government, representatives of the Eti Bakyr Terek-Sai Kyrgyz-Turkish company said the construction of the gold-processing plant was suspended due to a delay in equipment from abroad.
Sadyr Zhaparov noted the need to resume the Terek-Sai deposit, and in this regard he gave a number of appropriate instructions to relevant state bodies. The acting president also emphasized the necessity to conduct an open dialogue between the enterprise and local population.
"Preparatory work is underway to build a tailing dump. As part of environmental safety, the construction of this facility must be complied with all requirements. The work in this direction should be carried out in close cooperation with the local population, an open dialogue is necessary," the prime minister said.
Sadyr Zhaparov also expressed hope that the Kyrgyz-Turkish enterprisewill meet all environmental and social requirements.
"The issue of fulfilling social obligations and environmental requirements is under the control not only of the relevant state bodies, but also of the local population," said Zhaparov.
The Terek-Sai deposit is located in Terek-Sai village, Chatkal region of Dzhalal-Abad Oblast. Eti Bakyr Terek-Sai LLC is a joint venture: 25 % of the capital is owned by Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC and Eti Bakyr Turkish company - 75%.
Acting President of Kyrgyzstan, Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov is in south of the country for working visit.
He already held meetings with residents of Batken and Osh Oblasts.
