Bishkek, March 2, 2021 / Kabar /. “The Kyrgyz side is satisfied with the results of the talks with the top leadership of Kazakhstan and stresses the progressive nature of our cooperation,” said Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov in his statement to the media following talks with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.
The head of state noted that a wide range of topical issues of Kyrgyz-Kazakh cooperation in almost all areas were discussed, agreements important for both countries were reached and a number of decisions were made.
“We paid special attention to the further development and deepening of allied relations and strategic partnership between our states, interaction in integration and international associations,” Sadyr Zhaparov said and stressed that he also invited Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev to pay a return visit to Kyrgyzstan.
The president added that great hopes in promoting the national interests of the two countries and peoples are pinned on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh Supreme Interstate Council, the Interparliamentary Council and the Intergovernmental Council, the next meetings of which are scheduled for the near future.
“Kazakhstan is one of the main trade partners of Kyrgyzstan and ranks third, behind only Russia and China in terms of indicators. We agreed that we will continue to build up mutual trade, creating the necessary conditions for this.
During the talks, we discussed issues of cultural cooperation between two kindred peoples who have common historical, cultural and linguistic roots and traditions. This year, Kyrgyzstan will host the Days of the Culture of Kazakhstan, and in 2022 - the Days of the Culture of Kyrgyzstan in Kazakhstan,” Sadyr Zhaparov noted.
He also stressed that an exchange of views took place on the regional and international agenda, which is of mutual interest, joint actions were planned in the format of multilateral cooperation, and issues of interaction within the EAEU were discussed.
“In general, I want to emphasize that the Kyrgyz side is satisfied with the results of the talks with the top leadership of Kazakhstan and stresses the progressive nature of our cooperation. However, we still have a lot to do. For this we have a desire, aspiration and political will to dynamically develop mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation with fraternal Kazakhstan in all directions," Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized.
