Bishkek, Aug. 30, 2021. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations in honor of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the country's Independence Day.
More than 50 heads of embassies of foreign states and international organizations accredited in Kyrgyzstan took part in the event.
In his address to the participants of the event, President Zhaparov briefed about Kyrgyzstan’s independence, noted the achievements of Kyrgyzstan over the years of independence.
He said that today Kyrgyzstan has established diplomatic relations with 165 countries and is a member of 124 international organizations. “We are actively developing long-term and multifaceted cooperation with them to strengthen political dialogue and mutually beneficial partnership,” the president said.
The head of state added that Kyrgyzstan will continue to pursue an open, balanced and peaceful foreign policy aimed at protecting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country, as well as national interests.
He noted the main priority of the country is the development of political, trade, economic and cultural ties with neighboring countries, strengthening of integration.
Further, the president touched upon urgent issues of regional and international security, requiring strengthening of cooperation to ensure security at the national and regional levels.
He noted that in connection with global climate change, environmental protection, the preservation of glaciers, forests and rivers is one of the main priorities of Kyrgyzstan today, therefore, the development of a green economy and its application in everyday life is a requirement of the times.
The president also touched upon the topic of creating a favorable environment for doing business, saying that radical economic reforms have begun in this area, including the development of fiscal, transport and logistics, as well as foreign trade policies.
He continued that Kyrgyzstan focuses primarily on the development and expansion of political, trade and economic ties, security and military-technical cooperation, striving to reach specific agreements on water resources, energy, infrastructure, agriculture, as well as health, education, culture, finance and technology.
The head of state thanked all the allied countries, partners and international organizations for their invaluable support, humanitarian and technical assistance in overcoming the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and for their participation in the development of Kyrgyzstan.
“I am confident that by working together to advance pressing bilateral and multilateral issues on the agenda, we will achieve great results for the sustainable development and prosperity of our peoples. In turn, we with the state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic are ready to help you in your important and responsible diplomatic activity," President Sadyr Zhaparov said in conclusion.
