Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2023 . / Kabar / . President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov participated in a festive event dedicated to the Jalal-Abad City Day at the Kurmanbek Stadium.
The event began with a festive concert and performance dedicated to the history of the name of the city of Jalal-Abad.
The Kyrgyz leader congratulated people on the 146th anniversary of the city, known as the "city of youth".
"We will not be able to build a bright future, even with modern technologies and modern tools at our disposal, if we do not remember the good deeds of our ancestors.
By raising our red flag, shining with golden rays of the sun, over the sacred Ayub-Too mountain, we pay tribute to our fathers who gave us a peaceful life, which is very symbolic for such a day," Zhaparov said.
He added that for almost a century and a half of history, the city has grown, developed and continues to be transformed for the better.
"Our goal is to bring the settlements with the status of a city to a level worthy of the city name. The roads walked on were conspicuous, so during the repair works the emphasis was made on the most visible part - the central streets of the city. Now residents of Jalal-Abad and guests of the city started walking on smooth, light and wide roads with improved infrastructure.
In honor of today's city day, we presented its residents with 50 new buses, as well as new cars to the regional court and the Department of Internal Affairs. This will also ease the daily needs of thousands of city residents, and will serve to ensure public safety. All measures taken are aimed at the benefit of the people and the bright future of the city of Jalalabad," the Kyrgyz leader noted.
"If regions develop, cities prosper, our country as a whole will prosper. It is a great honor for me to witness how the works are bearing fruit, Jalal-Abad is becoming more beautiful, turning into a green and prosperous city.
I would like to express my gratitude to every resident of Jalal-Abad who supported the efforts to turn it into a second economic center.
May socio-economic and cultural changes and forward-looking aspirations increase in our city with rich history and beautiful nature!," concluded President Zhaparov.
