Bishkek, April 28, 2021 . / Kabar /. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov met on Wednesday with active youth from cities participating in the Children and Youth Friendly City contest, his press service reported.
The head of the state emphasized that the youth, which has a great social and economic, cultural, creative and scientific potential, today is a strategic resource for the development of the country.
President Zhaparov awarded winners of the contest and answered the questions of young people on various topics, listened to their wishes and suggestions for the development of the country.
He answered the questions on the support of persons with disabilities, the role of organizations for the development of youth policy in regions and the impact of new Constitution on the new generation, the need to create appropriate infrastructure for the development of domestic tourism, the legislative status of volunteers who contributed to the fight against the pandemic of coronavirus infection, digitalization of the health sector, etc.
Eighteen cities participated in the biennial national competition Child and Youth Friendly City.
According to the results of the contest,
- Kara-Kul town of Jalal-Abad Oblast took first place in the contest and won a prize fund of KGS 3 million;
- Balykchy town of Issyk-Kul Oblast won the second place and KGS 2 million;
- Batken town of Batken Oblast took the third place and KGS 1 million.
