Pre-school education coverage in Kyrgyzstan grows by 44.3%

Bishkek, Jan.15, 2025. /Kabar/. In 2024, the coverage of children with pre-school education in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 44.3%, the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the republic said Wednesday.

The indicator increased from 28.3% over the year.

302 short-term kindergartens were opened in first-shift schools and vacant buildings. Development centers covering 50 children each year have been established in republican libraries. The total number of such centers had reached 300.

Under the Government accelerator project, 257 family kindergartens have been organized. As a result, 98% of six-year-old children - 86.6 thousand people - completed pre-primary education in 2024.

In addition, the country is taking measures to develop the pre-school education system and increase the number of kindergartens. Entrepreneurs opening kindergartens are provided with state benefits and affordable loans.

The Ministry of Educations also reported that KGS 1.5 billion have been allocated for the construction of new kindergartens, the opening of additional groups and the conversion of bedrooms into classrooms.
