Bishkek, July 14, 2020 / Kabar /. According to preliminary estimates, the gross domestic product (GDP), in January-June 2020 amounted to KGS 228.3 billion, decreasing by 5.3% compared to the same period of last year.
The press service of the National Statistics Committee said that excluding enterprises developing the Kumtor field, GDP amounted to KGS 195.9 billion, reducing the level of January-June last year by 6.9%.
The decrease in GDP growth rates is mainly due to the reduction in the construction and services sectors. At the same time, the decrease in the growth rate of commodity production branches compared to January-June of the last year amounted to 98.7% (in January-June 2019 - 113.2%), and the sectors that provide services - 91.8% (in January-June 2019 - 101.5%).
In January-June of the current year, the largest share in the structure of GDP fell to the sectors providing services (47.8%), which compared to January-June of the last year decreased by 0.8 %, while the share of industries producing goods on the contrary increased by 41.1%.
At the same time, the share of industry amounted to 25.3%, which is 4.7 percentage points higher than the same period last year, the share of agriculture, respectively, 9.4% and 0.8 percentage points, while the share of construction, by contrast , decreased by 0.4 percentage points, amounting to 6.4%.
