Bishkek, July 11, 2024. / Kabar/. On July 10, a capsule was laid at the Solton-Sary deposit for the construction of a new gold recovery plant and the buildings and structures necessary for production.
Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC reported that the ceremony was attended by the management of Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC, representatives of Avelum Partner LLC and Indian investors, as well as representatives of local authorities and residents of the region.
In his speech, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC Narynbek Satybaldiev noted that in order to implement the instructions of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov on the need to attract investments into the country and create new jobs, Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC, together with Indian investors, studied the possibility of organizing work on recycling waste of stale mine tailings, processing of substandard ores (gold-bearing overburden rocks), mining of ores from the deep horizons of the Altyn-Tor quarry.
Calculations have shown that an integrated approach with the possibility of obtaining gold from three sources (tailing dump, substandard overburden ore materials and open-pit reserves) reveals the potential of the Solton-Sary deposit with efficient organization of production.
The total investment will be at least 25 million US dollars; to date, more than 8 million dollars have been spent. The planned date for receiving the first commercial metal from the new enterprise is December 2024.
After the launch of the enterprise, at least 400 new jobs will be created, of which more than 95% will be citizens of Kyrgyzstan. An agreement was also reached with Indian partners that all produced commercial gold would be transferred to Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC, in other words, the Indian side would not claim to export gold.
The Solton-Sary field is located 355 km from Bishkek in the Naryn region on the northern slope of the Kapka-Tash ridge, at absolute altitudes of 3500-3600 meters above sea level.
The field consists of 3 areas - Buchuk, Ak-Tash, Altyn-Tor. The total predicted gold reserves at the deposit are about 20 tons.
