Bishkek, Oct.2, 2019. /Kabar/. The State Commission to study events in Koi-Tash village on Aug. 7-8, 2019 is holding its last meeting. Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Head of the Commission Jenish Razakov said.
He noted the work of the Commission expires on Oct. 12. Razakov reminded that all issues and clarifications have been completed.
Today, the Commission members are hearing information from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
On Aug.7, in the evening in Koi-Tash, in the house of former President Almazbek Atambayev, a clash of law enforcers and supporters of the former president took place in the course of actions to forcibly bring him to the investigating bodies in the case of kingpin Aziz Batukayev.
As a result, Usen Niyazbekov, deputy head of the Alfa special unit of the State Committee for National Security was killed and more than 40 people were injured.
On Aug.8, law enforcement agencies detained Atambayev at his home in the village of Koi-Tash and he was taken to the State Committee for National Security pre-trial detention center until Aug. 26. On Aug. 20 the Pervomaisky District Court extended his detention until Oct. 26 this year.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in connection with the unrest in Koi-Tash, the killed special forces officer and the injured law enforcement officers.
