Tashkent, Nov. 17, 2021. / Kabar / . On Nov. 1, Uzbekistan’s gold and foreign currency reserves reached $35.2 billion, which is $797 million more than last month, the Central Bank of the republic said Wednesday.
Most of the reserves are stored in the form of gold - $21.6 billion. Meanwhile, gold in reserves has become less, a slight drop was recorded in the volume of physical gold in reserves from 12.3 to 12.1 million troy ounces.
Currency reserves increased by $466 million, the total volume of currency and deposits amounted to $12.4 billion.
In 2020, Uzbekistan was among the top 10 countries by volume of gold production and ranks eighth in the World Gold Council's ranking.
In this ranking, China holds the first place with 368.3 tons of gold, second place - Russia (331.1 tons), followed by - Australia (327.8 tons).
