Tashkent, March 18, 2022 . / Kabar /. As of March 1, gross international reserves of Uzbekistan amounted to $35.3 billion. They increased by $0.9 billion compared to February, the Central Bank of the republic said.
The reserves consist mainly of gold and foreign currency. The precious metal is valued at $20.7 billion and the currency - at $13.5 billion. Another $1.1 billion are international reserve assets (IMF).
The amount of gold is 10.9 million troy ounces (about 339 tons). Foreign currency mainly includes cash held in banks.
Reserves have increased by $221.4 million, or 0.6% since the beginning of 2022.In addition, the impact of the rise in gold prices from $1799.25 at the beginning of the year to $1903.3 was $1.1 billion.
