Bishkek, May 10, 2024. /Kabar/. The volume of gold and foreign exchange reserves of Kyrgyzstan is at historically maximum values and, as of May 6, 2024, reached 3 billion 625 million US dollars, Chairman of the National Bank Kubanychbek Bokontaev told Kabar Agency.
He noted that over the past three years, the growth of gold and foreign exchange reserves of Kyrgyzstan amounted to about 1 billion US dollars.
“The volume of gold in the assets of the National Bank has increased over the past three years as a result of the purchase by the National Bank of gold offered by Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC and local precious metals production entities.
Thus, taking into account the operations of the National Bank both for the purchase and sale of gold, the volume of gold in the assets of the National Bank as of the end of April 2024 amounted to about 52 tons, he said.
