Bishkek, June 1, 2021 . / Kabar / . In the first quarter of 2021, the amount of remittances to Kyrgyzstan increased by 22.4% compared to the same period in 2020, the National Bank of the country said Tuesday.
The economy of the Kyrgyz Republic shows the first positive signals amid a gradual revival of activity: in January-April 2021 the growth of real GDP excluding the Kumtor minefields amounted to 1.1%.
Domestic consumption remains relatively restrained and supported by the inflow of remittances to the country.
In January-March 2021, the net inflow of remittances of individuals increased by 22.4%, amounting to USD 420 million.
