Constitutional referendum update: Turnout makes 19.41%

Bishkek, April 11, 2021 . / Kabar / . As of 2: 00 p.m., the turnout in the constitutional referendum was 19.41%, Kyrgyzstan’s Central Elections Commission reported.

The data obtained on the basis of results received from an automatic ballot boxes.

Thus, according to the latest results, 700 thousand voters fulfilled their civic duty.

Following are data by regions of the republic:

  • Bishkek – 15.62%;
  • Osh – 26.18%;
  • Jalal-Abad Oblast - 21.89%;
  • Issyk-Kul Oblast – 18.65%;
  • Naryn Oblast – 22.78%;
  • Osh Oblast – 20.73%;
  • Talas Oblast – 21.96%;
  • Chui Oblast – 16%;
  • Batken Oblast – 19.80%;
  • Abroad – 2.31%.

A referendum to determine the form of government in Kyrgyzstan was held on Jan. 10 of this year, along with the early presidential elections. Then the presidential form of government was supported by 81.49 percent of voters. After that, a Constitutional Counsel was created, which developed a new draft of the Constitution.
