Tashkent, March 1, 2022 . / Kabar / . As of Jan. 1, 2022 public debt of Uzbekistan amounted to $26.3 billion, or 38% of the gross domestic product (GDP), the press service of the Ministry of Finance of the republic said.
Public debt of Uzbekistan increased by $2.9 billion compared to the beginning of 2021.
The state foreign debt amounted to $23.6 billion ($2.5 billion increase; 34% of GDP) and the internal debt - $2.7 billion (4% of GDP).
In 202, the country has signed agreements on attraction of external credits in the amount of $5.5 billion, including state securities – UZB 5 billion.
The volume of funds of international financial institutions attracted by Uzbekistan is $10.9 billion (46.3% of Uzbekistan’s public debt).
In particular, Uzbekistan's debt to the Asian Development Bank is $5.2 billion, the World Bank - $4.3 billion, China Export-Import Bank - $2 billion, the Japan International Cooperation Agency - $2.1 billion, China State Development Bank and others - $2.2 billion, the Islamic Development Bank - $0.9 billion and other international financial institutions - $2.7 billion.
