Volume of gold and foreign exchange reserves of Kyrgyz National Bank makes USD 2.7B

Bishkek, July 29, 2021 . / Kabar / . As of July 24, 2021 the volume of international reserves of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan amounted to the equivalent of $2.7 billion, which covers about six months of imports.

The press service of the Bank reported that the domestic currency market remains relatively stable.

In addition, the National Bank reports that monetary conditions in general have not changed significantly.

Short-term rates of the money market generally tended to grow and continued to fluctuate within the interest rate corridor set by the National Bank. The activity of money market participants increased in the short-term segment, mainly, in open market operations.

The level of excess liquidity in the banking system continued to increase. Under these conditions, the Bank continued to withdraw excessive liquidity in order to limit inflationary pressure in the country.
