Inflation rate in Kyrgyzstan for 5 months makes 4.8%

In January-May 2021 (compared to December 2020) the increase in consumer prices and tariffs (inflation) in the country as a whole amounted to 4.8%, head of the Summary Works and Statistical Information Dissemination Department of Kyrgyzstan’s National Statistics Committee Chinara Turdubayeva told during a press conference Friday.

The prices for food products and soft drinks increased by 6.8%, for alcoholic drinks and tobacco products by 6.5%, for non-food products by 3% and for services provided to the population by 1.1%.

"The prices of potatoes rose the most during this period - by 33.9%, granulated sugar - by 20.6%, edible vegetable oils - by 19%, mutton - by 14.2%, chicken eggs - by 13%, fresh vegetables - by 12%, fresh fruit - by 9.6%, fish - by 5.1% and bread - by 2.8%," the specialist said.
