Kyrgyzstan’s schools to operate remotely from Apr.8

Bishkek, March 31, 2020. /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, schoolchildren will continue their education in the fourth term remotely due to COVID-19 coronavirus infection, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Nadira Jusupbekova said at a briefing.

According to her, initially it was planned to start schooling in remote mode from Apr. 8. The deputy minister stressed distance learning is financed from the republican budget.

Work is underway to prepare 480 video lessons for pupils in 1-4 grades.

Video lessons for students in 5-11 grades will be available through some state-run TV stations.

For close contact with the students, teachers will conduct online lessons – to explain topics, set and check homework. To do this, the parties will need to download the Zoom application or alternative means of communication.

As of March 31, there are 107 cases of coronavirus infection in the Kyrgyz Republic. Three of patients infected have recovered.

Note that on March 16 this year, Kyrgyzstan closed educational institutions due to coronavirus for three weeks.
