Mudslide in Batken Oblast caused damage in amount of KGS 55.2 mln

Bishkek, May 6, 2020. /Kabar/. In Batken Oblast, the descended mudslide caused damage in the amount of KGS 55 million 276 thousand, Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan Zamirbek Askarov said during a parliamentary session.

According to him, the amount of damage from mudflows in another, Dzhalal-Abad Oblast is also specified by the Civil Defence.

On May 2 at about 6:30 p.m., a heavy rain and hail caused mudslide in Leilek region, Batken Oblast.

Landslides were recorded in the villages of Min Jygach, Kara-Dyobyo, on the section of Qatar and Isfana town.

In Isfana, mudslide passed through several streets, where the streams came out of ditches and flooded 20 houses with a garden. Also, a house in the village of Kara-Dyobyo has been flooded. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties.

Also, on May 3 at about 12:10 p.m. mudflow descended in Aksy region of Dzhalal-Abad Oblast.
